Melissa Carter
Certified Personal Trainer

I have been regularly working out since I was 13, and it was the dramatic change in my outlook on life and the huge confidence boost that made me want to begin a career in the fitness industry.   I started my fitness career at the Mizzou Recreation Center where I worked the floor and moved up into the Personal Training department.  I was also the personal trainer for the Mizzou Tiger Wheelchair Basketball team, where I created a periodization program and ran weekly boot camps.  Since moving to One-on-One, I have continued personal training, and I am also teaching group fitness classes.  I am looking forward to all the new opportunities!

I am currently ACE (American Council of Exercise) and NHE (National Health Examiners) certified.  I continue to stay up-to-date with the latest fitness and health information through continuing education courses and reading the newest books and journals.

I have received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri in Biological Sciences and Nutritional Sciences.  Next fall, I will be going back to school to obtain my Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology.

I specialize in circuit training, weight training and boot camp style training.  I am committed to helping each of my clients achieve their personal goals and to push them to achieve things they never dreamed possible!
