I began my fitness career when I taught my first step class at an all
women's gym in Sedalia, MO. I started teaching when I was a Junior in High School, and taught step, ab, and sculpt classes. This also introduced me to weight training.
I continued to teach part time thru college at Missouri Valley College in Marshall. I graduated in 1997 with a BS in Recreation Administration and a BS in Human Service Administration. I took a job right out of college as a Recreation Director at a Public Park. I worked long hours at something I didn't like doing. So I decided to make a change.
I became certified as a Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise and moved to Columbia. I worked for 2 years at a gym as a trainer and group exercise instructor. When I moved to
One On One I knew it was the best move I could make to advance my fitness career. Two months after joining the
One On One team I married Jeff. Another good move on my part! I have since obtained another certification thru ACE, Clinical
Exercise Specialist. I participate in continuing education courses as often as I can and do a lot of reading about health related issues.
In August of 2003 I had the opportunity to purchase One On One and one month later my son Jackson was born. I reduced my training hours to be able to stay home with him but I
will always be in the gym! I really enjoy working with my clients and try to influence their lives as positively as I can. I believe exercise can be fun and effective. Having a healthy lifestyle is rewarding for yourself and your loved ones.
In April of 2005 my business partner, Caroline
Perdomo, and I opened Hacienda Perdomo Wellness Spa. This is a
continuation of educating people about their options for taking
care of themselves, preventive care.
My daughter Stella was born in April of 2006 and
then in October I got my real estate license. I has always been a
hobby of mine to look at houses. Now I am able to compliment by
husband's construction company with a position at the House of Brokers in
The O'Brian Team.
