This email address is available to you to maximize our time
together, yet still be available for all those questions you might
have for when we are not training together. One of the best ways
to maximize your trainers ability to positively affect your goals
is to ask questions. Knowing what you need to keep balanced in
your lifestyle is often the source of the best questions for your
trainer. I network with a physical therapist, holistic
practitioners, massage therapists, chiropractors, a nutritionist,
and many other trainers. I am constantly asking them for feedback
on specific cases or a clients ability to adapt, or even working
past injuries.
I am constantly researching different things. Recently I have
been blown away by the number of clients with various joint
troubles, that have had chronic symptoms disappear just from
strengthening the joint, using proper muscle fatigue methods. As
simple as it sounds, the goal is joint protection, but taking the
stress to a optimum level to allow growth of the fast twitch
muscle fibers. It requires constant adaptation to make sure the
client is stressing the muscles properly, and constant vigilance
on how the client fatigues, not always on how many repetitions is
performed. As a student of kinesiology, I have found that every
exercise has a chain sequence of muscles that fatigue, sometimes
it is like peeling layers to get at the muscles that fatigue after
the primary muscles. My experience with many types of clients has
allowed me to apply this method of personal training as a workable
adaptable and successful tool, although it is a foreign notion to
many who have had trainers before that do not focus on the quality
of the fatigue. Needless to say some clients are alienated at
first, but those that stick to it are rewarded with knowing that
it didn't take as long to get a change in shape and strength.
I do find it difficult on the other hand, to give proper
lifestyle and eating advice without more consistent dialogue
between myself and the clients.
So, if you have a question and I can't answer it, then it is in
my interest to find that answer.
